Gary and Philomena have been besieged by a tyrannical army of bedbugs. At present they appear to have survived unscathed may fall yet under the overwhelming show of force from the bedbugs. Camilla is attempting to broker a peace between the two waring factions yet Lucy is puny and hence lacks negotiating power. Things do not look good for Gary and Philomena.
After another terrifying night of being strangled and stroked by Lucy, it was again time for Philomena to break free from the shackles of Gary and enter the back pack once more to visit the New Forest. Philomena posed in various spots, attempting to hide from the judgemental stares of onlookers who think it is weird that three 19 year olds carry about a purple toad. But Philomena didn't care about the haters. Most memorably, she looked on with second hand embarrassment as Lucy limply and pathetically clung to a tree which had fallen across a river before falling in. What an imbecile!
Following much deliberation as to what to do the following day, since Christchurch's many activities had been exhausted, Philomena once again set of on an exciting train journey to Lymington, which Tristan promised would be a thrilling day out, full of even more walking. Having walked over 50 miles across Catherine's visit, Philomena was quite tired and a bit fed up, so decided to walk across a rumbly piece of concrete projecting into the sea and be held up to view the many boats which reminded her of the wealth inequality so visible in the retirement centre of the world. Thank goodness she was in the arms of the class rep! On the way back, she got some incredibly delicious fudge, regardless of what Connie says, and went back to Lucy's house to play board games for many hours.
Then tragedy. Catherine had to leave, and she was yet again stuck with only Lucy and Gary for company. Would the others take her out to enjoy more of the wonders of Dorset? Only time would tell...
Yesterday, Philomena had the thrilling experience of escaping the shackles of comparison with Gary during a solo visit to Hengistbury Head! After a long trek up a hill, Philomena posed on a big pillar while Lucy creepily crouched behind her, drawing the attention of the elderly cripples who had managed to get up that same hill.
Arriving on the rather stony beach, Philomena decided to hide herself from the predator Lucy by taking shelter in some nearby rocks while her owner and summer guardian swam in the seaweedy sea. Philomena was thrown and caught, and ignored brutally by Lucy who made her become sandy, a very unpleasant experience as she was thrown in a bag and marched down the hill.
After returning home, Philomena was duly disregarded as Gary retook his prime position in the hearts and arms of all those present.
After a long and arduous journey home — imagine having to deal with Lucy all that way — Gary & Philomena have made it to their second home in Dorset, ready to enjoy three months of joy and excitement, right in the heart of the UK's number one county for elderly care.
They are pictured here in Lucy's inside garden chair, soaking up the glorious rays of the LED overhead lighting, napping in preparation for the exciting summer that awaits them.
